Rookie Camp 2011

It was so good to see these young campers enjoying the camp setting and learning lots about God and his word. Christy Komar, of Rosscarrock Church of Christ, was full of good ideas for fun and learning. The kids built a full set of cardboard armour while they learned about the “Armour of God.” And there were several other crafts. The campers enjoyed fun recreation times including favourites with the summer staff like swimming in the lake and slip & slide along with unique ideas like medieval games with nerf weapons. Bill Merkley shared a message each day about various people from the Bible who exemplified the armour of God. Rick & Lin Rehn shared missionaries’ perspectives each day and Sheila Free shared interesting object lessons at campfire time. Thanks also to Kelly, Tammy and Brenda who served well as mother figures and to Howard who connects so well with these kids to help them enjoy camp.
