If I were a teenager, I would say that High School Camp 2011 was “totally sick.” For the parents, I would say it was really cool or even awesome. Trevor Zimmerman, once again, deaned a great camp. The week was full of fun activities with multiples choices for recreation from archery to bocce ball, to playing music together. You could find teens carving soapstone most of the day. If you didn’t find them there, you might find them lounging in the huge hammocks on the gazebo or playing basketball. Campfire was fun as ever. The group recreation included “Steal the Bacon” with a giant earth ball and glow in the dark dodge ball. In the midst of this fun, the teens also got to experience God at camp. There was God-honouring praise and worship led by the summer staff and campers. Summer staff shared their testimonies around the campfire. Rob Nutting brought well-prepared and insightful messages on the “Armour of God” – really a summary of the book of Ephesians finishing with his testimony on Thursday night. Thanks not only to our summer staff but also to volunteers Aislinn, Ellen, Will and Glen who helped make this a great week of camp. Check out our Facebook page for more pictures.
